A transformational practice, tailored to you

Having seen first hand the positive impact regular practice can have on issues such as stress, anxiety, depression and PTSD, my support and guidance will be carefully tailored to help you find inner balance and peace through a gentle, creative approach to your practice.  Trauma can occur following a tragic event, loss or illness, or through intense levels of stress within the armed forces or front-line services industry; even if you are experiencing extreme fatigue as a full time mum, or are highly pressured within a demanding corporate environment, our private yoga sessions will help manage symptoms that arise as a result of your stress or trauma.

Trauma-informed yoga is my specialism. It adopts a slow and steady rhythm with attentive explorations of postures and breath work.  There are so many ways that we can encourage  your mind and body to reconnect. Yoga truly is a valuable investment in your self-care, healing, and growth and I am excited to be able to explore this journey with you.

My healing yoga journey

My own journey with yoga began over ten years ago. At that time, I was living a life that masked the traumas I had suffered, including the loss of immediate family members at a young age. My lifestyle back then felt like a façade as I tried to maintain intense roles within adrenaline-fueled industries. With very little down time, the reality was I had no idea there even was an ‘off switch’! Despite thinking I was something of an expert at masking my emotional and physical exhaustion with my lifestyle choices, I felt deep down that the way I was living wasn’t sustainable.

Then, quite out of the blue around the age of 30, I found yoga. Or perhaps it’s more accurate to say, yoga found me.

Initially impressed with how the practice helped me maintain physical strength, tone and suppleness in my body, it didn’t take long for me to experience deeper, more profound emotional, and mental rewards that outweighed the physical benefits.

Many years later, I remain committed to my daily practice and continue to deepen my development of internal healing and recovery.  This beautiful journey of balance and restoration nourishes me in unique ways each and every day.

Over the years I have explored many different styles of yoga: Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative to name a few. And I trained to become a teacher at Harmony Yoga School in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

If yoga is something you have been considering, or have previously delved into, I would love to explore whether we might be a good fit working together. I’m committed to helping you gain the most you can from a regular, meaningful practice.

Book a call with me today as I would love to learn how I can support you in your yoga journey.

Warm wishes,
Helen
